Welcome to the Festive Yarn Tasting
The 2022 Advent Calendar is inspired by all new festive treats and fun drinks in all new colors! Each mini skein is paired with a fun colorful recipe I have found online.
Each day of December, visit this page to see a new photo reveal of the day's colorway along with photos and links to the inspirational recipe and my attempts to recreate them. I encourage everyone to try some of the recipes with me!

Pistachio Icing

These turned out so delicious! I baked them for 18 mins as cupcakes instead of the original cakes. Also added a little touch of blue food coloring to get a closer shade to the yarn! (Without that my icing was very yellow.) Otherwise followed the recipe exactly.
Coco Snowball

Very simple and so delicious! Helpful tip is to blend the cream of coconut really well before you add it to the shaker - I put it into my blender for just a minute to homogenize.
Sugar Cookie

The decorating is a bit of a process but I love the result and the cookies are delicious! I only decorated a few for now and froze the rest of the baked cookies to be iced later with my family. I thought it would be really fun to make some ugly Christmas sweaters!
Emerald Butter Cup

Fun and Easy! Everyone loves them. Definitely makes me think of making other combinations of flavors - would be easy to experiment.
Spirulina Smoothie

Very simple and delicious. I used blue spirulina and green matcha powder (instead of green spirulina) and it tasted a bit like green tea soft serve icecream!
Matcha Bark

A fun and easy recipe with quite a little kick due to the cayenne pepper so use less or leave out if you don't like it spicy. But I loved it!
Pinecone Truffle

My daughter and husband made these and they were so easy and cute! They look like little hedgehogs!
Mistletoe Margarita

This was definitely my favorite cocktail so far! Absolutely delicious. I used white cranberry peach juice because that was all I could find for white cranberry. Also put half the amount of simple syrup. Will definitely make again!
Coconut Meringue

I literally cannot stop eating these! Mine did not turn out super crisp on outside - I really need a new oven, so I think it was equipment error. But nonetheless these are scrumptious!
Ruby Chocolate

So delicious. Brown butter and brown sugar are such a delightful combination. The Ruby Chocolate is somewhere between milk and white chocolate in flavor-fairly mild. I couldnt find ruby chips so I subbed dark chocolate-my favorite anyway.
Dragon Treat

Very easy to make with a big impact! Everyone loves them. Nostalgic but with a modern twist.
